Ho Kham is a northern Thai term meaning a gilded hall or golden pavilion, formerly used as the official residence of the Royal Governor of Lampang Province during the Rattanakosin period. The structure is a timber house that is fastened securely together without using a single nail. Grace ful ly raised on posts, the house is finely constructed in the northern style. The original house was pulled down about 30-40 years ago.

The one at Muang Boran has been re con struct ed based on photographs. The big timber posts were specially selected to have them serve as sup ports of the entire structure as well as preserve the original architectural style.
